Commissioned by Brian Willson. Scored for Trumpet in C, Vibraphone, Piano
and Narrator. Premiered in New York City, 2003.
Peace Anthem Awarded Honors in the
Waging Peace competition of 2002. Scored for Soprano solo, SATB chorus,
Narrator with Audience responses, Piano and Concert Chimes. Text by Alan

The Lost Children of Coney Island
Commissioned by the American Composers Forum. A lyrical documentary film
in collaboration with film maker Douglas Morse. Premiere screening at The
Kitchen, Sept. 2000 with the composer improvising at the piano a la the
silent movies.
Elegy for the Nephew of Prince Mukhransky
Commissioned by Duo46. Scored for guitar and violin. Premiered by Duo46 in
Turkey and under contract to Alfieri e Ranieri Publishing, Italy. CD to be
released 2004.
The Pure Space Into Which Flowers Endlessly Open
Jointly commissioned by The American Composers Forum Composers
Commissioning Program with funding from the Jerome Foundation and The
Merling Trio (Piano, Violin and Cello)
Premiered at Carnegie Recital Hall, Feb. 1998. The embedded text in this work includes two poems by Owens and one by Rainer Maria Rilke. The title of the work is from Rilke's Eighth Elegy.
The New Jerusalem Commissioned by Christ
Church, Hudson, Ohio based on a Biblical text selected by the
commissioning committee. Scored for Soprano and Baritone soloists, mixed
chorus, flute, piano and triangle. Premiered at Christ Church under the
baton of Denise Chatfield and later published by Arsis Press, Wash. D.C.
Pianophoria #3 for Two Pianos
Finalist in the Whitney Museum's Duo Piano Festival. Performed at the
Whitney in New York in May 1996 by Kathleen Supové and Anthony de
Mare and premiered in the UK & Canada by Claire & Antoinette Cann.

Toccata for piano
Third prize in the Concorso Internazionale di Pianoforte e Composizione
Ennio Porrino, 1996, the only work by an American composer to receive an
award in this competition. Performed in Cagliari, Italy in Dec. 1996 by
pianist Francesco Libetti and in Portugal, England & Germany by
Francisco Monteiro.
